AMACO White Pebble Specialty Glaze (SP 400) cone 05 (lead free)

Amaco White Pebble has a pebbly appearance as it breaks up into a pattern resembling pearl tapioca after firing. The break up is dependent upon the application.

Pebble can be used under, over or between other glazes for varied and interesting effects and is also excellent for design work. To expand the color horizon, White Pebble may be tinted with AMACO Liquid Underglazes or AMACO Velvets.

AMACO Snowfluff Specialty Glaze cone 05 (lead free)

AMACO Snowfluff is a most unique glaze in today's market. It is a white foaming type texture glaze and is completely matte.

Snowfluff can be mixed with silica sand and various other products for unusual and colorful effects. It can be tinted into rich pastel shades with AMACOŽ Liquid Underglazes or AMACOŽ Velvets.

It is excellent to use for the base glaze in majolica techniques. When mixing with colors, it is recommended to make a test chip first; also to mix enough to completely finish a project.

Snowfluff requires some stirring or mixing, but a heavy cream consistency is desired for the textured effects. If thinning is required, use a few drops of water and AMACOŽ Gum Solution. Snowfluff may be applied to greenware or bisque by brushing or sponging methods.

It provides an excellent surface for sgraffito design on greenware surfaces. It can be applied over, under or between unfired glazes for unusual texture combinations. Fire to Cone 05 (1911°F, 1044°C).

AMACO White Crawl Specialty Glaze cone 05 (lead free)

White Crawl is a glaze that will crawl into irregular and very interesting patterns when fired. The pattern will very depending on the thickness of application. A heavier application will result in larger and wider separations in the surface of the glaze, exposing larger areas of the background, while a thinner application will result in a smaller, more delicate pattern.

White Crawl can be used over, under or between other glazes. Beautiful results can be achieved when used over underglazes or Velvets, and to expand the color palette, it may be tinted with Amaco liquid underglazes or Amaco Velvets.

AMACO Overdrift Specialty Glaze cone 05 (lead free)

Overdrift is an opaque, frosty white glaze. It is indispensable in combination glaze techniques. When used in combination glaze work, Overdrift's strong white opacity partially modifies the color tint of the base glaze. It renders a cascade of white floats when applied over or under a glaze. It is also excellent on red clay.

If thinning is necessary, add a little water and AMACO Gum Solution. Overdrift will fire to Cone 4-6. Recommended firing temperature is Cone 05 (1911°F, 1044°C).

AMACO Texturizer (TL-1) cone 05 (lead free)

Apply TL-1 Texturizer over any Cone 05 glaze to create different textures. Surface textures vary depending on the type of base glaze (gloss, matte, or textured), increasing the glaze palette tremendously. An even wider variety of effects can be achieved by applying TL-1 between coats of two different Cone 05 glazes.

TL-1 Texturizer

AMACO High Fire Texturizer (TH-1) (lead free)

Superposition (overlaying of glazing) is very common practice among potters and is done either by brushing one glaze over another on a portion of the ceramic piece or by partial dipping. When superposition is done on part of a ceramic piece, the rest of the piece is left exposed. This produces variations in color, texture and depth which simulates reduction glazes in an electric kiln, while retaining a clean atmosphere and without the trouble of reducing or reaching Cone 10 temperatures.

TH-1 is a rutile base texturizer. In superposition with other glazes it tends to produce a yellowish/orange crystal-type texture. It will yield excellent results with most AMACO HF Series glazes when applied over or under the glazes. As results vary from glaze to glaze, be sure to fire a test sample first.

$8.45 per pint

AMACO Satin White Old World Crackle (CR-11) cone 05 (lead free)

Crackle glazes are formulated to produce a network of cracks on fired ware similar to crazing, giving it an old or antique look. These glazes can be used for an all over coverage or they can be applied over an underglaze. Because of the transparency of the crackle glazes, the underglaze design will show through.

To emphasize the crackle after firing, swab the lines with colored inks. Crackle glazes are recommended for decorative items only, as these glazes do not seal the surface of the ware as other glazes do. Apply three crosshatched coats of Crackle glazes over a mature Cone 04 (1971°F, 1077°C) bisque.

AMACO Bisque Fix

This white paste is an excellent mending material for bisque that can be used to bond pieces together or fill up broken cavities. Bisque Fix can be colored to match the bisque using metal oxides or ceramic stains.

After applying with a spatula, fire to the temperature of the clay and glaze that you are using -- up to Cone 10 (2381°F, 1305°C).
